John A. Van Every, O.D

Dr. Van Every is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley School of Optometry. He is TPA certified, and is a member of The California Optometric Association. Dr. Van Every has been in private practice serving Santa Cruz County for over 30 years.

Ayesha Burns, O.D.

Dr. Burns received her doctorate from the University of California at Berkeley, where she was trained in all aspects of primary eye care, including contact lenses, binocular vision, low vision, and ocular health management for children and adults. Dr. Burns received additional training in the diagnosis and management of eye disease, including diabetic eye disease and glaucoma, during externships at Veterans Administration Hospitals in California and the Pacific Northwest.

A long-time and devoted resident of the Santa Cruz area, Dr. Burns earned her Biology degree from UCSC. Prior to continuing her her optometric education,she worked at Santa Cruz Biotechnology and subsequently at ETR Associates, a not-for-profit health education corporation located in Scotts Valley.

While not in the office, you may find Dr. Burns teaching indoor cycling classes or lifting at the local Gold’s Gym, training for a triathlon, tasting at a local winery, or enjoying an afternoon with her friends and their families.
